My Journey in Healing

Welcome to my practice! My name is Shar, and I am a dedicated physical therapist with a passion for empowering individuals, particularly women, to achieve their best health. With over two decades of experience, I have specialized in women’s health and pelvic health, working with patients across all ages and a wide range of medical conditions. My journey began with a Master of Physical Therapy from Oakland University, and since then, I have continually sought to enhance my skills and knowledge to provide the highest level of care.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in various settings, from hospitals and outpatient clinics to fitness and wellness centers. My experience has allowed me to develop a comprehensive approach to physical therapy, integrating both traditional and innovative techniques to address each patient’s unique needs.

One of the highlights of my career was serving as the Director of the Fitness Testing and Training Program for the Sterling Heights Fire Department, where I had the opportunity to support the health and fitness of our local heroes. I also spearheaded the development and implementation of a Women’s Health Program across multiple locations, focusing on the unique needs of women at every stage of life. My role as a mentor and director of the Pelvic Health Specialty at a national rehab company further solidified my commitment to advancing this crucial field. Over the course of seven years, I guided physical therapists across five states, providing education, mentorship, and leadership to ensure the highest standards of care.

In addition to my clinical work, I have been deeply involved in community education and professional development. I have conducted numerous in-services, workshops and classes, sharing my expertise with both the public and fellow healthcare professionals. My dedication to ongoing learning is reflected in the over one hundred continuing education courses I have completed, covering a broad spectrum of topics including Functional Dry Needling, Craniosacral Therapy, Spine and Sports Rehab.  I’m especially passionate about women’s health, and many of my certifications focus on addressing pelvic health concerns, postpartum recovery, and other unique challenges women face throughout their lives.

I am also particularly passionate about addressing chronic inflammatory conditions and vector-borne illnesses, which became my focus after a family member was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. This led to the creation of my “Move to Improve” program, designed to provide a whole body approach with graded and progressive exercise and interventions to manage these challenging conditions.

With a deep dedication to my craft, combined with personal experiences in collegiate sports, injuries, surgeries, and the births of my three children, I am uniquely equipped to meet each person where they are and guide them toward reaching their full potential.  I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your health goals.
